Today we are talking to Martin Wrighton from Matunga’s Personal Chef Services.
A friend of mine referred me to the Personal Success Intensive weekend. She told me I would love it but she wasn’t going to tell me anything about it except that it would change my life. So I went along for the weekend and came out floating. I went home and asked my wife if she would go along to experience the weekend and she said yes.
After she attended PSI we ended up having five of our family members attend the Life Design program together. There was nothing hum drum about it. It was a load of fun and I had some real light bulb (thanks Oprah) moments. The processes, learnings and interactions changed the way I look at life. I really wanted to improve my language and communication with the ones I love. I can be blunt and it doesn’t serve me or them.
Life design gave me the push that anything is possible. It taught me to be bigger and better and bolder than before. My life continually changes now and instead of coming up with excuses I say to myself ‘bring it on’.
Pete has been my mentor for nearly two years. In that time I have given up full time work as an executive chef of a large function centre. I was falling out of passion with cooking and had lost my working mojo. I have now created and started up my own business, Matunga’s Personal Chef Services, about a year and a half ago. We cater for creative weddings, intimate dining and large functions with flare. I have created my own line of condiments that are sold through boutique hotels. I find my work satisfying and creative. I feel relaxed and proud of my achievements.
I am really enjoying having the contract for catering for eQ events and creating the menu and event catering systems for the programs around Australia. Next there is a book deal in the pipe line. I am continuing to grow the business.
The impact on my family has been great. It has shown my kids that anything is possible. By having the positive environment of the eQ community of people around us it creates a positive environment for them. My daughter has the entrepreneurial spirit now.
My life used to be such that I would get started and pull back, get started and then pull back. Now I am comfortable with myself. I have learnt more about myself in the last two years than the last 40. I have my 7 year vision clear and what excites me the most is the interesting things that come along the way and the relationships and the understanding about myself that will happen along the way.
